Operations Performance Manager
WELCOME TO LINAKER
For 30 years Linaker has specialised in the creation and maintenance of tailor-made business environments. Having shaped workspaces for a wide range of businesses across the country, Linaker’s heritage lies in our ability to design and regulate unique spaces that truly work.
Linaker was founded upon three core values: trust, reliability and care. We are not just a service provider, rather an essential part of our clients’ architecture and, ultimately, an extension of your business, a part of one team.
With continued growth and ambitious plans ahead, we are now looking for a highly capable Operations Performance Manager – Operations (Hard Services) to support critical operational initiatives and drive performance improvements across our portfolio.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Sector Director, the Operations Performance Manager will be deployed into critical, underperforming, or high-risk client environments to lead recovery and stabilisation efforts.
This is not a traditional operational role focused on steady-state KPI and SLA management. Instead, the role is centred on rapid diagnosis, intervention, and transformation, taking ownership of accounts in distress and driving them back to a stable, compliant, and commercially viable position.
The role requires a highly experienced, hands-on operator with deep hard services expertise, capable of making decisive interventions, challenging existing ways of working, and delivering results in pressured environments.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Client Improvement & Recovery
• Take full operational ownership of failing or at-risk contracts requiring immediate intervention
• Conduct rapid, forensic diagnostics across technical delivery, compliance, commercial performance, and resourcing
• Identify root causes of failure and implement targeted corrective actions
• Develop and execute short-term stabilisation plans and longer-term recovery strategies
• Reset client confidence through visible leadership, transparency, and decisive action
• Establish temporary governance and reporting structures to regain operational control
• Transition accounts back to BAU teams once stability has been restored
Special Projects Delivery
• Lead high-risk, high-impact operational projects where standard structures are insufficient
• Act as a troubleshooter across complex or failing operational situations
• Support distressed or failing mobilisations and bring them back on track
• Implement corrective operational frameworks, processes, and controls at pace
• Deliver measurable turnaround outcomes
Operational Excellence
• Implement structured recovery frameworks rather than standard continuous improvement
• Introduce discipline, accountability, and control into unstable environments
• Challenge and reset operational standards where required
• Balance speed of intervention with long-term sustainability
• Ensure all recovery actions meet statutory compliance and safety standards
Stakeholder Management
• Manage challenging client relationships and rebuild trust
• Provide clear, honest, and solutions-focused communication
• Mobilise internal teams quickly to support recovery
• Influence behavioural and operational change at site level
KEY SKILLS
• Proven experience in hard services operations (FM, engineering, technical services)
• Strong experience in turnaround, recovery, or crisis management roles
• Hands-on leadership with strong operational credibility
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability
• Strong stakeholder and client management experience
• Commercial awareness and understanding of contract performance
• Strong knowledge of compliance and health & safety (IOSH/NEBOSH desirable)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting systems
Work Environment
• Hybrid / Office-based with frequent travel
• Fast-paced, high-pressure environments requiring rapid response
THE PACKAGE
• Competitive Salary on offer with annual pay review.
• Company car / car allowance
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
• Career progression opportunities
• Hybrid working
• Healthcare, life insurance, and additional benefits
